Previous April 27: Pictured is the pano from the top of Max Patch, considered one of the best views on the trail. You can see the North Carolina mountains 360 degrees from up there. I couldn’t stay long because of the wind and rain.

Trek with Pat

It is said that the Appalachian Trail draws the young, the retired, and bunches of middle aged white guys in mid-life crisis. I will let my readers judge my status and motivations. Hopefully this blog will not only help my friends and family keep track of my whereabouts, but will also be an enjoyable glimpse into trail life. Maybe I'll throw in an occasional humorous rant about the criminal justice system. For now, join this recovering lawyer on his hike of discovery.
