April 10: Georgia ain’t on our mind any more. We crossed into North Carolina marked by the pictured sign nailed to a tree. The weather was awesome and we hiked a solid 14 miles over moderate up and downs. We finished at Beech Gap after ascending and descending Standing Indian mountain (1300 feet). We camped with about a dozen hikers that have been in roughly the same place. I made another fire to try and live up to the trail name. It looks to be a little warmer tonight. One state down and 13 to go, whooowee! Happy trails from El Fuego and Pop Tart.
