Duck and I set out from the adventure center after a ten dollar breakfast of burned pancakes. The weather was nice after the rain but the cursed rocks continued. We passed more beaver ponds which, unfortunately, we were forced to obtain water from. The overlooks were really pretty at a maximum height of 1500 feet. They were still nice views of the surrounding lakes.
The rocks, and correspondingly my feet, continued to be bad. We hiked with little to note and pulled up to the shelter around 8:00. There was a pack of unruly teenage “campers” that had all but taken over the shelter area. Damn section hikers! We avoided them and tented a few hundred yards away. Happy trails.
